  • Peter Thiel vs Curt Doolittle on The Enlightenment Failures

PETER THIEL VS CURT DOOLITTLE ON THE ENLIGHTENMENT FAILURES Same Argument, Slightly Different Narratives Thiel, a fellow libertarian, in a September interview at the Hoover Institution, discusses his take on the failure of the enlightenment to produce a theory of man, and attendant social science, and the consequences thereof. Peter’s (correct) take is that the enlightenments were a reaction to a period of bloody warfare over religion. And after a bloody war over religion we were reluctant to have another war over the nature of man – and gave up. That take attributes greater agency to man than I do. That does not mean it’s false. It means that he’s describing the human reaction as they would understand it, and i’m describing the human incentives regardless of whether they understood them My take is only marginally different, stating that each civilization other than the british resisted the anglo empirical revolution, and that each group happily extracted the church from politics in reaction to the wars of religion, but that they preserved their group strategy, group strategic nature of man, and group grammar in preservation of their strategy including the nature of man. And that we went through conflicts anyway: the french revolution, the german imperial restoration, the russian revolution, the chinese revolution, the american jewish counter-revolution, and the muslim counter-revolution. And, because we failed to solve the problem we left open these counter revolutions, including the current female, progressive, jewish, and muslim counter revolutions. But again, we had solved the nature of man by the 1920’s and correctly started the nature of man – which, honestly, smith and hume largely got right, missing only darwin(biology), spencer (sociology), and nietzsche (religion). And of course, my take is that P SOLVED THE PROBLEM of metaphysics, psychology, social science, economics, politics, and the nature of man. But that we are going to need to complete the conflict over the nature of man that was not settled in the postwar, prewar- darwinian, or enlightenment eras. So yes, we will need a civil, civilizational, and cross civilizational war to save mankind from our failure to save mankind in the greeco-roman, and anglo-american eras.

  • Langan Crosses the Border Into Woo Woo

Mar 8, 2020, 1:54 PM No I don’t pay attention. Langan crosses the border into woo woo. I’ve addressed his work elsewhere. I’ve commented there a few times. But, like I said, over 145 it is not clear that there is any substantial benefit without worse side effects, except in the purely physical or mathematical disciplines where intuition no longer can bias a decision across the border from true (consistent) into meaningful, preferable, or good (desirable). Over 130 the only difference is how long you have to work to get it, and how innovative you might be. Over 145 we see some benefit in mathematics and the hard sciences dependent upon mathematics. Over 160 still isn’t testable in any sense of the word, and all value I’ve seen is merely verbal, with whacky factor (think chomsky) increasing rapidly. In general it is almost impossible to communicate across two standard deviations (30pts). I can tell when people have a higher iq than I do by their verbal facility on one side or the patterns they identify and work with on the other. I know my weakness and always have, and it’s short term memory, which is why I do better at pattern recognition and iterative synthesis than chess and mathematics. Conversely, I will see a pattern and I will discover its cause, no matter what information I look at. I didn’t go into physics because I once I understood the wave particle duality in high school I understood it was a problem only money could solve. I didn’t go into math because I saw it as puzzles not problems and autistics need to be cautious about getting addicted to puzzles. I went into technology because I thought it would be possible to produce artificial intelligence. By the early 80’s I realized it was a hardware problem and required vast investment to make progress although the ideas I formed during that time are still not used anywhere other than my work in the grammars and ethics within P-Law. I used the market opportunity to make money at tech, and then turned my attention to economics and politics which did not require massive capital investment – just hard work and time. When I could retire early to work on the problem full time I did. My only concern at this point is that my age is increasing faster than I am completing the project. In retrospect I had to invent P in order to talk to normal people. Which is why so many other men like me are attracted to it. But without something like P, if you’re not neurotypical, you are somewhat a prisoner in your own head, and limited by that prison to what you can influence. I was. I’m not. but I also have more ‘fight’ than any ten other men. Which is what you need to make it as an entrepreneur.

  • Sigh.

    Mar 9, 2020, 12:26 PM

—“Catholic church is straight communism, especially in the 20s. Bolsheviks took over. Curt is obviously in the dark.”—

Going from bad to worse isn’t the same as going from good to bad. The only truths are physical laws, natural law, and evolutionary necessity. The only not-false religion is ancestor and nature worship (debt recognition) The only good christian church is orthodoxy – civic ritualism in religious dress. The only good christian religion is evangelicalism – cognitive behavioral therapy in religious dress. All organized religions we know of evolved from the initiatic brotherhood of warriors. All religion is substitute for the oath (loyalty), hunt (army), sacrifice (thanks), feast (reward to all), celebration (bonding) cycle. The military is the source of western civlization, our equality in duty regardless of rank, and our loyalty to one another because of it. The primacy of religion was useful only for the lower classes and women to develop a parallel system of ritual and thanks, because they couldn’t fight, just as the primacy of democracy with the inclusion of women has undermined our martial polity from within.

  • The Rest of The Right Is Intellectually Embarrassing

Mar 21, 2020, 1:38 PM by John Mark Frankly, all “intellectual” discourse on the right, outside of P is f***ing embarrassing. The people themselves – those who want to live by and enforce reciprocity – are not embarrassing, just badly taught. Sounds arrogant to say it, but I’m not bragging on myself, I didn’t come up with it. But even a guy like me can see that a) its explanatory power is well beyond anything else, b) its multi-layered solution is light years beyond anything anyone else has offered, and c) no one else on the right is even offering a solution. What embarrasses me about most of the supposed intellectual leaders on the Right are that so few of them even bother to recommend a solution and so many are loathe to tell people that war is inevitable. So many of them prefer to just complain about the enemy and redpill people, which is simply not enough. Any rightwing intellectual that wants to be taken seriously in this crisis in the West needs to tell people war is coming, and then a) say “This is the solution I am recommending for America and the West”, and b) (different way of saying the same thing) write a constitution. Writing law cuts out the B.S. and wishful thinking, and forces a connection with the reality of having to rule human beings. Then we can compare constitutions. What will happen is all the rightwing constitutions will have a bunch of the same or very similar policies, but only the P constitution will have sufficiently thorough and detailed law strictly constructed from empirical observation and operationalism.

  • The Case Against and For

Mar 23, 2020, 11:31 AM Rik, This piece helped me understand you a little better. Your book helped me understand you a little better. I finally understand what you are doing and why. And I understand your investment in the literary frame. My question is whether literary frames are causes, justifications, or excuses. Whether we obtain information from speech, text, and empathy, or from observation, evidence, and incentives. Or stated differently, from ideas or evidence. It seems you work from the literary(spoken, empathic, monopoly, ideal) model, and not from the evidentiary(observation, incentive, markets, adaptive) model. And whether intuition, sympathy, and empathy are to be fed, or whether they are to be TRAINED. My position would be that as we evolve into increasing complexity we must maintain adaptability, and we must invest in additional training, not in greater accommodation of our animal instincts. and that we are failing to produce that training. And that the training can be achieved by non-false narrative (fairy tales, myths, legends, history, of princes and princesses which we want all to aspire to be as the ideal) and that stoic self authoring, epicurean philosophy of joy with others, and living within your means, tripartism/trifuctionalism, and basic economics and basic natural law can be taught to literally everyone at some level of sophistication. Military service makes men unselfish. Motherhood makes women unselfish. Adversarial education and military realism, naturalism, and empiricism produces men fit for governance. Adversarial courts and the law teach people real manners, ethics, and morals where indoctrination fails. It is pretty obvious from history we can do what I recommend without negative externality, while we can pretty much burn the entire abrahamic project and all within it as drugging the population with false promise that led the jews to mysticism achieving nothing but parasitism, the muslims to mysticism destroying every advanced civlization of the ancient world, and christianity producing a dark age of ignorance we escaped by rule of law, commerce, literacy to take advantage of it, the conquest of the world for having done so, but where we are still trying to escape. Buddhism producing a pseudoscientific or pre-scientific stoicism of withdrawal rather than action, and all other than epicureanism and shintoism producing a mythology of suffering or evil rather than joy. Whether you study the supernatural literature(lying), the philosophical literature(deceiving), or the demographic, economic and military literature (evidentiary truth), you will come train yourself to rely on the constant relations within that paradigm of lying, deception, or truth. That does not mean you cannot convey group strategies or some variation on group strategies through indoctrination(social construction), justification, or evidence. You can. it’s just more costly to train the animal to have a human mind instead of satisfying the animal intuition of a child. And to produce very different externalities for having done so. So, given we know that we must satisfy the demand for religiosity given the lack of agency as empathy and neuroticism increase in dominance of an individual’s personality, it’s a matter of paying the cost of training them, or paying the cost of retraining everyone else to be an adult. Now, that said, it is very easy to pick a hero and imitate that hero. For people with empathy jesus is an almost optimum hero. For people who are neurotic and empathic jesus is still an optimum hero, but they also need stoic discipline whether on the buddhist woo woo or the stoic ritual methods, and prayer by discourse, or prayer by repetitious stanzas all work just fine, depending upon the degree of neuroticism we need to suppress. You’re saying you want what you understand. I’m saying the market needs whether it understands or not. This is not under my control either. I am from a long line of lower aristocracy, soldiers, and puritans (church of england > Puritan > Congregational). When I read books, poetry, the lives of, and letters by my puritan american and anglo ancestors, and the records of my norman ancestors, and I realize that just as they wanted the falsehoods of rome, priests, dogma, and institutions out of their lives, that I am merely continuing the tradition, of wanting theology, priests, their lies, their myths, their superstition, their corruption, and their parasitism, out of our lives – because the physical laws of nature, the natural law of man, and the necessary law of evolution and transcendence are the only laws in the universe not corrupted by the deceits of man. Gods exist in the minds of man as intergenerational, fictional, archetypal kings, headmen and fathers of our peoples. But if there is a universal deity – a ‘God’ then we have the evidence of his hand in the writing of his hand, in the physical laws of nature, the natural law of man, and the necessary law of evolution and transcendence. And that is all there is to be said. those laws are either obeyed and they are not. We do his work or we do the demon’s work. It does turn out however, that jesus’s teachings are the optimum prisoner’s dilemma strategy and that they are therefore the optimum cooperative strategy INTERPERSONALLY, when the christian himself performs the analysis and the charity – but not politically, when he proxies others do do it for him (her). So by that reasoning I include the teachings of jesus in the natural law – they are just, like many of the laws of the universe, counter-intuitive. THE HIERARCHY OF INSTITUTIONAL DEPENDENCIES Genetic Intuitions … Demographic distributions … … Homogeneity-heterogeneity … … … Means and organization of production … … … … Demands for, means of, method of military order – or it’s failure … … … … … Group Strategy under all of the above: producing metaphysical (presumptive) value judgements … … … … … … Mythology to persist that strategy … … … … … … … Mothers, teachers, Priests, to indoctrinate into that mythology and strategy. … … … … … … … … Education to indoctrinate you OUT of that mythology and back to the strategy (Academy). … … … … … … … … … Institutions that enforce and persist that military, economic, social, and familial strategy. … … … … … … … … … … Institutions that evolve and adapt that strategy to change. • Everything a (((libertarian))) Says Is a Lie.

    Mar 23, 2020, 12:08 PM

–“Property is dirived from the axiom of self ownership ie, we own ourselves. External property is defined by labor investment – either direct labor such as, “I made this walking stick” or indirect labor such as “I bought this walking stick” or also indirectly as a title gift as “I was given this walking stick” or by contract such as, “I am making payments on this walking stick.””—JWarren Prescott

No. Property is the result of seeking cooperation, trust, loyalty, and non-conflict between warriors dependent upon one another under the strategy and tactics of voluntary entrepreneurial warfare using maneuver. Sovereignty, and once we have sovereignty, reciprocity is required. From that all western civilization arises. Now what is difference between the PRESUMPTION of an impossibility of the sophistry of ‘self ownership’ and the evidentiary necessity of sovereignty and reciprocity among voluntary warriors (see organization of piracy). The difference is using the sophistry of self ownership to circumvent the need for a universal militia responsible for creating sovereignty and reciprocity from which property is the result. Everything a (((libertarian))) says is a lie. Let me say that again

    (a) everything a libertarian says is a lie. (b) every philosophical argument is a lie. (c) if you cannot construct an argument from physical and natural law it’s a lie. (d) people lie.
