I mean, that’s a lot of lies in half a dozen comments. And you want me to take you as other than a perfect demonstration of the abrahamic method of deceit: Sophism, Pseudoscience, and Supernaturalism? THE WHITE LAW IS ABSOLUTE – INCLUDING IN JUDGEMENT OF THE CHURCH. —“… but the church did [x good thing], right?”— (Regarding the prohibition on cousin marriage) Oh yeah. Sure. But the reason they did so was to break up the great aristocratic families, so that they in turn could appropriate their land incrementally and cheaply. Which led to half the capital in europe being dead assets of rent seekers against the interests of our people. So it’s not that the church was doing good. It’s that it produced a good by doing an evil. Even then, it’s the corporation under manorialism that produced the good since we were an homogenous peoples in europe along atlantic, germanic, finnic, southern, and slavic lines: the children of the Aryan Conquest of Europe. Again, deflating the church into Content Taught (ideas), Method of Teaching (sophism (ABRAHAMISM)), and Governance by Teachers (action), and Consequences (externalities) – as a governor the church consisted of men who governed reasonably well. A broken clock is right twice a day. Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot did good things as well, marxists, postmodernists, and feminists each contributed at least one non-bad idea. The only criticism is, that evidence shows, the greek aristocracy were western Aryans practicing ancient aryan sovereignty, reciprocity, truth, duty, contractualism, and law. Can you take a look?”— One of my followers has complained about what she perceived as a ‘turn to the left’ by the Daily Stoic. She asked if I would investigate, since I am advocating the restoration of stoicism as required education – a restoration of our ancient personal religion so to speak. My followers are unlikely to need training in stoicism in large part because they already practice the habits under indirect guise. Their interest and mine is political, economic, and evolutionary. The cognitive discipline (habits) Stoicism provides, produces superior polities. Those polities are superior because they are less dependent upon falsehoods to govern. So the direction of the Stoic Restoration has more than trivial importance to me, and to them. But what troubles me when I survey your (collective) approach, which is the imbalance between defensive self help and detachment – the trap fallen into by the Buddhists – and disciplined self-authoring in the excellences (‘virtues’), and in achieving one’s life’s goals (change). In other words, without the COMPETITION between rational distance from your emotions, and pursuit of achievements in life, all one does is recreate abrahamic and buddhist detachment from reality. This produces no excellences, only defenses – submission to circumstance. Western civilization was unique in that we developed Heroism, Individual Sovereignty, Truth and Duty, The Natural Law (of tort), and Markets in all aspects of personal, academic, intellectual, commercial, civic, and political life – avoiding theocratic or bureaucratic monopoly. It was this set of traits that allowed us to develop all the paradigms (disciplines) all of which were united only by those few criteria above. This meant that law > jury > reason > empiricism > science > technology > medicine could evolve … … and with them we could – in the ancient and modern if not medieval worlds – drag mankind kicking and screaming out of ignorance, superstition, hard labor, poverty, starvation, disease, child mortality, early death, tyranny, and the victimization by uncaring nature. The means by which we achieved all of this was competition (markets). And the means by which the stoic virtues can be achieved without causing the same catastrophe that reverses the western achievement, is by both increased independence from our animal intuitions, and … … application of that mind, emotions, and body, freed of those limits, to achieve the heroic at whatever scale of heroism the individual is able – no matter how large or small. To make the most of the one life we have available to us, in a manner must desirable to us. Leaving this competition between unsaid, is to leave stoicism incomplete. And to fall into the errors we have seen in prior eras, which slowly cause a people to descend into what is emotionally comforting but in demonstration of consequence indifferent from nihilism. They hold their faith. Why? Because faith is not something to argue like the law. Orthodoxy didn’t malinvest in christianity, because christianity never was the source of Russian corruption of oppression or parasitism. It certainly was in europe. One simply performs christian rituals and learns from them. One does not treat them as logic, law, or science. And one does not cower from the the dissonance between faith, reason, and science. Germans are similar in that they all too often cannot conceive of the difference between the moral, good, and true. They straddle the world. However, they are the most ‘correct’ of the civilizations – at least prior to the world wars under which their prussianism was conquered ‘unjustly’. So again, the high trust west, lower trust catholics, lower trust orthodox, and lowest trust east asians. A division of labor of the circumpolar peoples. High risk and innovation to low risk and conservation. Christianity is weak because christians are weak.

You are comfortable with white lies because white lies are how we provide solace to those who are suffering when we cannot ,or cannot afford to, or will not, take the actions necessary to end that suffering. Your work as a therapist could involve cognitive behavioral therapy. It does involve suggestion by the use of narration, thereby circumventing the trauma, analysis, and self criticism all of us make use of. But then you take this means of suggestion from the realm of interpersonal circumvention of trauma so that we might offer education by suggestion, and attempt to scale it to education. And this is where your white lies become ordinary lies, which you justify (obscure) with the lie of conflating the truth with the good and the preferable. There is no such thing as ‘darwinian truth’. There is only utility that satisfies a personal good, or a personal preference. We can weave a set of these utilities, like a story, into a justificationary network, that provides us with defense against our fears and insecurities – rather than training us out of fear and insecurity. But these are just another network of white lies. Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Buddhism are constructed of little other than these comforting white lies. Stoicism in the form of ritual self authoring(mindfulness) and ritual ancestor worship(Thanks), ritual community worship(thanks), and ritual nature worship(thanks) do nothing other than perform cognitive behavioral therapy that gives us confidence to act in a kaleidic universe the causal density of which is beyond our comprehension. So, Even today you maintain your market position with white lies. And you selectively argue with (a) scientific results, (b) clinical example, (c) historical example, and lastly (d) parables constructed of those white lies. And while in therapy, absent chemical assistance necessary to provide distance between cognition and trauma, fear, and insecurity, white lies allow us to operate by suggestion. Such lies do not scale. There are 1B dead between old world abrahamism( judaism, christianity, islam), and new world abrahamism (marxism, postmodernism, and feminism) and a thousand year dark age some of us are still trying to drag our civilization out of. And abrahamism consists of what appear to be white lies: False promise of the impossible, and destructive if successful, straw man criticism of the opposition, a vast network of lies in supernatural (religious), pseudoscientific (feminism, marxism, freudianism, boasianism, cantoriansim, messianism, keynesianism and mathematical platonism), sophist (postmodernism) prose, defended not by rational, operational, and scientific argument, but where argument is avoided by disapproval, shaming, ridicule, rallying, gossip, undermining, and reputation destruction on the personal, social, political, and intellectual scales. So no. There is no ‘excuse’ (justification) for white lies outside of catastrophic loss, therapy, injury, sick bed, and death bed. And worse, it is through the scale of white lies that we have endured and still endure, a dark age of ignorance, and the billion lives loss to the conflicts created by defense of lies and offence with lies.
