Kant has a special place in hell for restoring plato and ensuring that the scientific revolution was given an alternative.

Aristotle, and the victors – description: history, and science.

Plato and the germans – imaginary fiction

Aquinas and the Rest – supernatural fiction

As far as I can tell,

if you are not very bright you choose religion.

If you are able to at least read well you choose platonism (idealism)

If you are able to calculate you choose science.

Why? because the difficulty in the employment of reason to obtain decidability increases as you increase the form of communication.

There is nothing to be found in philosophy worth finding. And kant and the cancers of thought that he gave rise to both german, jewish , russian, and french are the source of the pseudorationalism that has destroyed philosophy and relegated it to western religion.

And worse, it gave technology of argument to the jews, who, just as Kant preserved christianity in transforming it into pseudorational verse, the jews transformed pilpul into jewish law, and jewish law into pseudosciences: boazian anthropology, marxist sociology and economics, freudian psychology, Frankfurt anti-aesthetics, cantorian mathematics, and the anglo crime built upon it, keynesian economics.

Time travel literature: Kill zoroaster if not, Kill abraham if not, kill plato, if not, Kill Justinian and Constantine, if not Kill Aquinas, if not kill Rousseu, if not Kill Kant, if not Kill marx, frued, boaz, weil and all the frankfurt school.

Don’t get it backwards. Math is so powerful precisely ’cause it’s so simple (dumb). It’s easy to be correct when you choose your own causal density. It’s far harder to be correct when you can’t.

Math is pretty simple for that reason, and we can delve into great complexity because of simplicity.

But we are having problems in physics at higher causal density.

And mathematics is all but useless in social science (say, in economics) because of causal density.

And we can’t even figure out a unit of measure for sentience yet, which is an even higher causal density.

So when people make statements like you just did, it sounds a little bit like someone saying chess is complicated. Actually it’s not. It’s a closed (ludic) game. It’s just hard for humans. There is math that is hard for humans for the same reason: mere scale of permutations. But it’s still trivial.

Tell me how to measure the market value of a brand.

Tell me how to measure the future rate of decline of iphone appeal.

Tell me how to measure how much information it takes to change state from one idea to another?

    Doing puzzles is simple.

    Problems have high causal density.

I’m on the side of Poincare and Brouwer (and to some degree Hilbert) that cantor was influential in expanding mathematical fictionalism (platonism), and thereby preventing the reformation of mathematics ( and philosophy) that we saw in the sciences.

This remains unfortunate, since any statement of mathematical fictionalism (platonism) can be stated scientifically (operationally) and therefore these fictions are not only unnecessary but impeded the teaching of math and to some degree pollute the other fields.

Now, for a person trained in mathematics (measurement), this is all very difficult to understand, just as to a philosopher trained in rationalism (non-contradiction) it is very difficult to understand, just as a theologian trained in idealism it is very difficult to understand. We all make excuses for useful fictions.

However, the consequences of useful fictions to humanity is cumulatively profound (expensive).

In fact, I am increasingly convinced that the ‘set’ movement from the 1800’s to the present is not only unnecessary, but harmful on a scale that is unimaginable to all but a few. As Popper said there are not only sources of knowledge, but sources of ignorance, and when we had the opportunity to deflate mathematics and convert it from a philosophy to a science, we failed.

This tragedy becomes more obvious once we realize that according to Bridgman, we might have had an Einstein a century earlier if mathematics had not be mired in platonism (fictionalism).

In my work, I’m increasingly aware that the rise of pseudoscientific economics, our failure to develop strictly constructed law, the loss of a century in philosophy, and the expansion of pseudoscience in physics (multiple worlds), are caused by the failure of mathematics – the most basic (simple) and therefore innovative of the logics – to reform.

Magic is still with us. The enlightenment remains unfinished.

I think that the scientific rather than platonic explanations are more truthful and less “magical” (and less ridiculous honestly). So try this: We can act in four dimensions of the physical universe, measure in four dimensions of the physical universe, and model four dimensions of the physical universe with mathematics. However, we can use the same techniques to model purely logical relationships, as we do to model physical relationships. It requires quite a bit of skill to keep track of what you’re doing, but when we are modeling very complex things, like waves, magnetism, forces, economic phenomenon, we can perform very complex calculations – not because these spaces exist, but because we can use the techniques we developed in the more simple physical spaces consisting of a small number of dimensions of change, to solve problems with many many, dimensions of change. It’s not that complicated really. It just sounds complicated because of the old fashioned (archaic) language we use to describe what we’re doing.

1 – as to ‘beginning’ the central question is whether time has any meaning at the extremes. We simply do not know the answer. But we know enough to know, that we do not know the answer. Ergo, any argument to ad-infinitum is no more likely than any argument to singularity because we don’t know if there is a difference.

2 – As long as the set of forces that constitute mass-radiation-space-time are constant, there is no reason that the universe or universes do not simply pulse indefinitely, although it is very difficult to say whether they follow in sequence or repeat the same time over and over again. We just don’t know.

3 – there are deep psychological reasons that cause us to seek the psychological safety of the pack in various group activities – and they are chiefly the result of living in large numbers rather than consanguineous bands and tribes. This need exists at the personal subconscious level, the group level(community), and the tribal (regional) level. And religions evolved to assist us in establishing normative expectations of one another on the one hand, and reducing the burden of uncertainty and fear of outsiders and being outside on the other.

4 – As we have seen people seek replacement for talking around the campfire, being read to, watching a play or movie, listening to talking in church, listinening to lectures in university, watching people talk on television. The phenomenon is always the same.

5 – We have seen people able to obtain the feeling of submission of reason to the pack (which is what feels good about religion) by many possible means: disciplined ritual, disciplined though (stoicism’s virtues), disciplined internal conversation (prayer), and disciplined quietude (buddhist meditation).

6 – We have seen people use music and dancing, group runs and walks, organized sports, hunting, festival, holiday, and feast – even parade and war.

7 – Each of these dimensions provides increasing safety of the pack in a world where – since agrarianism – we have existed uncomfortably as individuals. This allows us to ‘rest’ our minds from teh constant effort of reason and our constant battle with uncertainty whenever modernity’s comforting consumptions are insufficient for us to counter alienation that it produces.

8 – The question remains why we must rely on lies (supernatural) rather than myths, legends, and aspirations. There is no reason to rely upon lies, superstitions, and falsehoods – because they are, just like alcohol and drugs, methods of escape and deceit, and self harm. The wonder of being human, of what we have done in our short time, and what we may yet do, is enough for us.
