  • The Transcendent

by Neil A. Bucklew The Transcendent? Of course the idea boils down to unclear definitions and murky grammar. and none of us have the time to sort them all out. the transcendent cannot be consumed by definition, but there are plenty of illusions that trigger a neurochemical reaction that is expressed as a transcendent emotion. if the experience is what you want to consume, how is it transcendent? so mindfulness and fasting are more transcendent than illusory gods, who are symbolic guides at best, and ludicrous distractions as worst. What is generally called the transcendent is as you describe, an emotional quest of sorts for some idea that triggers a neurochemical reaction. this is incorrectly named as transcendent and should have a different term. i am of the opinion that this need and behavior is related to atomizing individuality, and the loss of tribal/community connection. our “gods” were our connection to our tribe, throughout time. But there is also a “real’ transcendent. there are real limits and boundaries. identifying and exceeding them could be called transcendent. Self improvement as well as community improvement is simply work done to improve the market value of the individual or community. but it requires identifying and potentially exceeding limitations, opening the path of Caesar, Aristotle, Odin, Zeus, and Tesla to those who dare. Tesla is an example we can look at because he is recent and well documented. There is no silliness involved. He had to eat and sleep just like everyone else, yet he achieved some sort of what i would tentatively call “real transcendent”.

“ISLAM IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH HUMAN RIGHTS”

The ECLJ was able to consult its most recent version, dated 19 April 2018, which clearly shows the failure and impossibility of integrating Islam within the framework of protection of Human Rights.

  • Ivar Diederik Hits the Transcendent Nail on The Head…..

—“I’ve seen people accuse Curt of denying the transcendent. But even the mystics themselves have all said the same thing: the transcendent can’t be expressed in words. The greatest mystics are silent about it. Because that which is beyond the grasp of words, should not be put into words. Do not try to testify what can’t be testified. Curt’s methodology is about the realm of spoken words. It doesn’t make any claims about the unspeakable. If you want to have transcendental, psychedelic and religious experiences, have them. Just don’t say anything about them that is false. Because otherwise Curt is going to swing his hammer of testimonialism at you.”—- Ivar Diederik

  • Abrahamism

ABRAHAMISM: 1) Restatement of Myth as History 2) Projection of Traditional Wisdom as Authoritarian Law 3) Dependence upon Supernaturalism (“Magic”, “Miracle”) 4) Monopoly (exclusivity) and threat of loss for non compliance. 5) False Promise of Impossible(supernatural, natural) Reward for Compliance. 6) Use of Pilpul and Critique In Defense of the falsehoods. 7) Castes of Priests with status, power, and economic incentives to perpetuate the falsehoods. 8) Secret Knowledge, or Prohibition on Competing Knowledge, or Denial of contradictory knowledge. 9) Oath to a falsehood. Payment of Ritualistic costs to the falsehood. Payment of ‘donations’ (fees) to the priesthood.

    SOME PEOPLE WANT TRANSCENDENCE

(It’s just self inducing endorphins – and another form of drug use as escapism. That doesn’t mean the religious “Spiritual” is not a psychological need to relieve the stress of ongoing computation with fragmentary knowledge. )

Yeah, but what if that experience is in fact what you want to consume? And what if consuming that experience both does no harm (directly or indirectly), creates no risk (directly or indirectly) and does you good?

Or conversely, what if that is ‘the best that many can hope for’, because the rational requires more agency than they possess?

So I think these people fall into camps:

1 – Pedagogical utility of intuitionistic expressions. (good)

2 – Political and Social Necessity: Mindfulness (good)

    3 – Cognitive Therapy. (good)

    4 – Action Avoidance (bad)

    5 – Escapism (bad)

Some of us are judges, and most of us need mindfulness, but some of us need to be therapists and some of us need therapy.

I don’t necessarily like the ‘Transcendent’ because as far as I know that’s just searching for a manual means of producing endorphins that compensate for weaknesses of social, sexual, economic, and political market value. Just as alcohol and drugs are artificial means of self medication.

And just as you see all forms of drug users excusing their dependencies, you see the ‘transcendent’ justifying their dependencies.

Hence why I advocate stoicism because it is self improvement not self medication.
