AFAIK UA will take back kherson and more of the republics by end of year, and Crimea by end of next year. I know this because the orders for arms in the USA are semi-public knowledge. Putin is already sending peace signals. But because of the RU atrocities, UA won’t negotiate.

The US/DOD/NATO strategy is to exhaust RU. And it’s working. RU military was another Potemkin village. So is the RU political structure and economy. Our hope is that we can correct for errors of the 90s and integrate RU into europe allowing USA to leave, and RU/DEU to defend.

US aren’t singing it. US would cause RU Military collapse in three to five days, forcing nuclear conflict. That’s why US doesn’t engage directly.
US/DOD/NATO strategy is to let UA continue to bleed RU dry, of men, equipment, economy, political will, and public tolerance.

Washington is doing what it has been with the whole world since 1945 – waiting out the evolution of the economy into a majority middle class, who will then demand rule of law. RU like CN is facing demographic and economic collapse. So full integration w/ Europe is on the horizon.

The #Saudi Minister of State is very good at his job – one of the better and more believable people in his role in the world. Even when I don’t like Saudi policy, I’m impressed with how rationally and dispassionately he explains (most of 😉 ) the reasoning behind the policy.
