  • Being very good at what you do, and having the resources to do what you want to

Being very good at what you do, and having the resources to do what you want to do, are two different things. To succeed you must choose things you are good at and choose things you have the resources to complete. But what I find most obvious among the engineers, entrepreneurs, and artists is that they want to compromise with as few people as possible. And in some cases people choose what they may not be able to do, may not have the resources to do, and may not be able to finish, becuase they seek to avoid compromise with anyone else. And thusly grasp a fantasy destined to fail. When I succeed it is because I surround myself with good enough people that I can remain an artist, and when I fail it is because I don’t surround myself with those people. And I know too well that when I do not surround myself with those people it is because I am tired of compromising. And when I do that I should not do business, I should lay on a beach until I feel like compromising again.

( It seemed that I had a very hard time overcoming the urge to rage when being distracted from something I was concentrating on. As I have gotten older, and have learned to ‘live pretty much in the zone at all times’, this is less of a problem. But now if I am tired – and if I haven’t had my prescriptions especially – I find that I don’t rage but I am easily …. I feel disrespected instead. )

WTF DO YOU THINK I’M DOING? (THE THESIS OF THE BOOK)

    (worth repeating)

—“Curt! Write a book on this!.”—

lol…. WTF do you think I am doing? 🙂

I don’t write this sh_t for my own entertainment. 🙂

Anyway, this is the general thesis of the book: The Law of Nature.

We invented sovereignty, and from that we developed western civilization as an extension. As we did so we learned to profit from ‘moral’ rule as a further demonstration of heroism (excellence). This sovereign network of industries vs totalitarian manufacturing plant just ‘calculates’ faster than all other possible human orders, because it produces the fewest friction, and the greatest opportunity to take risks.

So we evolved faster than the rest every time we restore our sovereignty, and we slow when we remove it – just like everyone else.

    Time to restore our sovereignty.

    Cheers.

( My autism makes crying children absolutely intolerable. It has taken me to my 50’s to develop the ability to distance myself from it. And even then I can only do it for short periods. )

    (diary)

Well I am not sure we ever were a couple really, but I’m single again, if I wasn’t before. 😉 It was … only a little painful. I seem to have a thing for ice-queens. 😉

I swear that in the choice between a Ferrari, Porsche, and another MR2 I’d choose the last. Only thing I like more about the Porsche is tipronic transmission.

This damned thing is just the best driving experience per dollar I have found.

First world problems: When you are accustomed to $15k take home per month and you spend time with people who take home two hundred. When you are used to generating 50-150M per year, and then you talk to business owners that generate under 500K in revenue per year. When you talk to people who generate billions of dollars in revenue per year and you realize they aren’t actually in business any longer except in the abstract sense. When you talk to politicians and you realize that this whole system works, but nearly everyone is totally incompetent – and those few who are not totally incompetent do the job they don’t really want to, only because they’re aware how totally incompetent everyone else is.
