I have the chipped teeth to prove it, and the wrestling, karate, and boxing training to survive it as a short autistic before nerds were cool. My alcoholic father was a physical threat and the only reason he lived through the nights I stood over him sleeping with a knife was fear for my mother and sister’s future. I finally got old and strong enough that I could stop him, pulled a knife, chased his cowardly —— while he was yelling for my mother and then took care of him and it’s in the court records. I had to fight weekly In school, and my chief antagonist ended up a serial killer and was shot dead by police in the 80’s (Robert Lee, Walla Walla). The reason I stopped fighting was after breaking one kid’s nose (David mc something) and another’s ribs (F. Galambos) in the winter, then the next summer beating a kid with a shopping cart. I realized that I had to master my temper or forgot my goals in life. I did. And all my emotions with it. As soon as I moved to Boston I started carrying because it’s all that matters in urban environments. Everything else is macho bravado by the peasantry that can’t demonstrate ability productively and is overcompensating. In my life I’ve put three of the enemy into bankruptcy, built a dozen companies, acquired more than I can remember, done wonderful deals, been married a few, lived around the world, done some cool spy stuff, studied a revolution up close and personal, survived cancer twice, a necrotic infection that almost killed me afterward, retired early, solved the problem of social science, started an intellectual movement and damn near organized the first political action of a civil war. My only mistake which is the same mistake I always make is underestimating the sheer stupidity of the conservative proletariat. And I am still awed by it. Almost enough to give up on you them. It’s just taken me a few weeks to understand that to win they need to start over in kindergarten because they’re that far behind. So I’m back at it now. So this asthmatic old man in his 60’s who is allergic to everything and can’t even regulate his body temperature, has endured pretty much everything other than shelling and prison. So if anyone wants a piece of me the legal way to do it is a fight for charity. Right now I have one taker for September. New Haven. $100 to the institute or to your favorite political charity. And I suspect I’ll have to do a few demonstrations and capture it on video so you have to find something else to sedate you immasculinity. I man up. I show up. And I never stop. So game on if you put up the cash and show. |
