WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA FOR A KIND AND MORALLY DECENT PERSON?
—“If people think you are a kind and morally decent person, then they are much more likely to find your arguments compelling. That’s why the fight against illiberalism should be conducted with as spirit of fairness and cordiality. It’s the best weapon we have.”—Bo Winegard
—“Can we start by defining what a ‘kind and morally decent person’ is? If it’s too complicated to explain then surely it’s too complicated to serve as a source for ‘compelling arguments’? Where do we acquire this (objective?) knowledge and who delivers the training? When a large portion of people equate “kind and morally decent person” to “someone who thinks exactly like I do,” it’s little wonder why they’ll find their arguments more compelling.

Easy. A Moral Person Demonstrates:
1) sovereignty of every individual’s demonstrated interests
2) reciprocity in display word and deed
3) truth before face regardless of cost.
4) seeking to understand not agree
5) exhausts opportunity for recirpocal compromise
6) exhausts defense of private and common
7) exhausts opportunity for charity
That’s the definition of ethics and morals.
8) fitness, manners, grace, and taste
That’s what result.
