Epigenics appears to be limited to regulation of expression. There is no evidence that I know of that traits can be altered, only evidence that we can train (pay costs) to compensate for traits. You can’t get higher IQ only more skilled, etc.

Boost of @Afterrthought Peaceful Parenting creates a society where children do not carry on the traditions of the past and are prey to cultures who laugh at peaceful parenting (as they should). Furthermore, it is easy for two professionals to peacefully parent a single girl and these scenarios are not applicable to large families or families under economic or other pressures. Spanking and other forms of transient punishments are natural and align with the fact that we are risen apes, not fallen angels. Hopefully that is in your book.
