On this one point, Locke was Wrong and Hobbes was right: as a member of a polity, man is reducible to a ‘mechanical’ engine fed drugs by his genes as reward and punishment for advancing their interests. And those interests are advanced through acquisition, retention and reproduction of all sorts of things.
That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t enjoy the fulfillment of our genes interests. It’s the whole purpose of existence.

I usually say that women just constantly try to move the ball forward a millimeter at a time. Men try to make long passes. That tends to be the best metaphor I can come up with that explains our different approaches.
Women don’t need to think to run a play. They just push at every opportunity a little bit at a time.
Women behave a little better when men are in the room. I find that men behave a little better when women are in the room. I find there are times when men and women need one another out of the room.
We don’t discuss Engineering, War, Violence, Law, or Punishment with women in the room. They don’t need to know about or understand, that stuff.
And there is a hella lot of stuff women find fascinating to talk about that I don’t want to be in the room for (baby feces). And there is a while bunch of stuff that women NEED to talk about among themselves for which men CANNOT be in the room (women stuff).

This state of affairs didn’t evolve because of how we treat our wives.
It evolved because of how other men treat our sisters and daughters.
So, don’t kid yourself.
A man may have little patience for a mate.
But he has a lot less patience for other men’s actions toward his daughters and sisters.
Thats what regulated men’s behavior.
Not love of wives.

While men domesticated alphas in order to more evenly distribute reproduction, and while women learned to rally and shame to rally men to defend against alphas, Man had a very hard time domesticating women.
Men treated women affectionately but much more like we treat our pets. Like chimps, brothers and cousins conducted war to obtain women and to protection their own from taking.
Women evolved to care not about the tribe but about other women and her children, and their children.
Men evolved to herd, and control the tribe.
The problem was that women bear children at will and place the cost on the tribe. And women trade sexual favors and affection to obtain resource and in doing so create conflict. Then they create conflict intentionally as an extension of rallying and shaming.
Man evolved property (ownership) in tandem with the sophistication of his means of production.
Ownership of women limited conflict, controlled female reproduction, and limited the difficulty that women could create by the trading of sexual favors and affection.
Romantic love is a relatively recent invention.
With the end of the division of labor, and the advent of redistribution, the lower classes have increasingly abandoned marriage, and women have returned to owning their own children, bearing them at will and forcing the cost upon the tribe, forcing reproduction downward in the classes, and using sexual favors, affection, and even just attention, to obtain what they want from many different men.
This has broken the limitations on women’s dysgenic reproduction and hyper-consumption, and disregard for the male members of the tribe.
THat’s how it is.
You need a superior solution to the obvious evolutionary origins rather than to beg pseudoscience to justify a prior. 🙂

One of the evolutionary virtues of taller peoples (scandinavians) is that women’s pelvises are large enough to pass large crainiums without sacrificing femininity.
We may like our petite women but we can ask for thicker women (turkic/greek/mongolian) or our lower classes, or we can ask for larger women who preserve ratios but get larger pelvises with height.
