MINDFULNESS
—Mindfulness is result of learning to habituate one’s attention to experiences occurring in the present moment, in order to choose reactions to conditions rather than involuntarily react to conditions by trauma, fear, error, accident, ignorance, indiscipline, or other’s unwanted or undesirable influence.—
Mindfulness consists in developing cognitive and emotional Agency.
Mindfulness can be achieved as far as I know only through ritual(china), through supernaturalism(middle east), through pseudoscience (buddhism), or through science(Stoicism/CBT).
So while it can be produced by many means, which means produce the best and worst externalities.
The externality of stoicism is agency – action in the the world.
And for those incapable of agency, then epicureanism is a constructive reduction of one’s sphere of competition and influence to that of family and friendship joys.
For those of us who have agency by birth, aspire to excellences, elitisms, and as much competition as we can survive, and do so with joy no matter the cost, we need neither mindfulness of action, or mindfulness of acquiescence.
Equality and universalism of all but The Law is an evil lie that prevents us from achieving happiness with the genes that our parents gave us.
