If you study Gary North, his comparison institutions using Middle Eastern norms and European norms does a wonderful job of explaining “the enemy’s intuitions”. The question is whether institutions adapt to genes, or genes to intuitions – because the behavior persists in genes.

As for egypt we see settled people ~7000bc (in the predynastic period), and they’re just looking for water. And they were a mixture of Nilotic, Arab, and north african. (I’m pretty sure – but not my area.)
