Crossing my fingers. Pakistan has a huge population, a lousy geography, tribalism, islamism, poverty, despite it’s success as a manufacturing base. Stability and integration into the world order would be far better than continued instability that adds to India’s stresses and plays in favor of China against india.
FWIW-1: I am not following PK economics or politics other than their interactions with china. And that’s because I can’t predict anything about pakistan. But given likely dissolution of RU east of the Urals and the possible assent of the turkic-islamic peoples into a separate central asian civ with a core state, I”m not sure I’d like PK to fill that role, or heavily influence that formation.
(FWIW-2: if you ever get a chance to hang with tribal pakistanis they still live in the ancient world so to speak, and they’re kinda adorable. Especially the men, and their concept of masculinity. (Though you do get the occasional moron+fundamentalist that makes everything about religion and is a waste of oxygen.)
