    THE IRONY

    The Irony that the Americans tell the truth and are wrong and utopian, The germans say nothing and are pragmatic but uncorrupted. The Russians lie and are right but corrupt.

    It’s one of those absurdities. I mean, why is it that some group can’t be both Truthful, Right, and Uncorrupt?

    Once you understand it, you just want to jump off a bridge with frustration.

    The irony is painful.

    POST 1970’S RELATIONSHIP

    I dunno. It sure looks like marrying each other because you share the same recreational interests (friendship) is ok, but marrying each other because you want to build a family as your ‘recreation’ is a better idea.

  • MALE – FEMALE BRAIN DIFFERENCES F: Solipsistic <----> Autistic : M F: Experience

    MALE – FEMALE BRAIN DIFFERENCES

    F: Solipsistic <—-> Autistic : M

    F: Experience <—-> Model : M

    So the ultimate female expression is unfiltered experience, and the ultimate male expression is unfiltered modeling.

    I think that’s the non-diagnostic version of the spectrum.

    I suspect that these are two different axis such that compensate for one another, rather than a single developmental spectrum:

    the intelligence spectrum and solipsistic-autistic spectrum.

    (man humor)(life lesson)

    Note from a friend, roughly translated:

    —“My work is awful. I’m frustrated. I compensate with reading philosophy and ___ my girlfriend six ways from Sunday.”—

    Of course, with my rather autistic logic, I think that if your work inspires you to both those ends, then it’s perfect.

    I mean, if the counter is that if you work is wonderful, and you don’t read philosophy or ____ your girlfriend like a rabbit, then think of how much worse off you are with enjoyable work.

    lol. Yes. I have my priorities straight.

    Seriously. I remember standing in the shower after getting the news that I had cancer, and thinking, “Of all the time I spend, the time I spend making love to my wife is the time I wish I had more of, and it is the time I take most for granted”.

    It was after cancer that I started working on philosophy half time, and after the second bout that I sold out of my business, sold my cars and houses, and moved to ‘the old world’ to work on philosophy while building software I cared about.

    The wife was a cost of transition unfortunately.

    But make sure you have your priorities straight.

    http://www.iulma.es/index.php/dictionary-economic-financial-commercial-terms/?lang=enTHE VOCABULARY OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS: ECON/FIN/CONT.

    —“The vocabulary of the business world is mainly associated with three main topics: economy, finance and trade.

    While it may seem that there is one common terminology in these three fields, there are remarkable differences between them.

    1) For example, the record of economic language is usually formal and academic.

    2) On the other hand, the record of financial language is more informal, with predominance of Anglo-Saxon lexicon, expressive and lucid images (last looking, concert party, fan club), and acronyms or shortened lexical forms (chips, chaps, tom).

    3) Finally, the vocabulary of trade, having its origin in the ancient Norman, participates in both records, formal and informal.

    These lexical differences and their reflection in each language are collected in both parts (English-Spanish / Spanish-English) of the Dictionary of Economic, Financial and Commercial Terms.

    the three goals of the fifth edition: (a) correcting the detected errors, (b) promoting the understanding of some complex terms, improving their definitions and particularly increasing the number of contextualizing examples, and (c) expanding the number of new lexical entries, around 250, some of them arising in the 21st century economy, such as margin debt, meltdown, ninja, subprime mortgage, “financiarización”, etc. “—

    (request for help translating some economic terms )

    We are trying to translate articles into Spanish and are not sure about the translations of:

    “Free Riding”

    “Rent-Seeking”

    “Common law” – Anglo Saxon Common Law (judge made law)

    “The Commons” / “A Commons” – parks, waters etc.

    “The Judiciary” not as a branch of government, but as a profession of judges independent of the government.

    Is there a good english-spanish glossary of economic and legal terms anywhere?

    Thank you.

    We can halve gun deaths if we improve the quality of life of white males!!!!!

    —“Almost two-thirds of gun deaths are suicides. 80% of firearms suicides are white males. This means that about half of gun deaths are suicides by white males. If we’re serious about ending gun violence, we need to focus on preventing white males from wanting to kill themselves.”—Free Northerer
