The french originated socialism as national socialism. Both Marx’s international communism and international socialism are, in a sense ‘national socialism’ made international.
Many on the alt-right and many conservatives who want to venerate their people and provide for them, all loathe to spread the benefits too far.
But it’s the same sentiments involved.
-
Conservatives ‘narrow the circle’ to nationalism.
-
Lefties just ‘expand the circle’.
-
Vegans and Jainists push the circle further to include all sentient life.
In that sense the difference is only in ‘who pays and how much?’.
