Hmmm…, all civ’s that have military cultures have sports, primarily to make men fit for war. I think that the problem with the NFL is that (a) there aren’t enough teams (b) they aren’t local enough (c) the money is too concentrated rather than largely (like soccer) getting everyone involved.
