East Asia tries NOT to make their society politically active

—“No human society has perfected the organization of the government. What East Asia tries to do is to NOT make their society politically active. This means that they focus on their lives rather than protesting on the streets, and on discussing things that most people have no clue about. I feel more free in East Asia than anywhere else in the world. My view is that lack of political freedom under benign dictator is among the best forms of government (assuming we must have one).”—Jayant Bhandari
