Read Jefferson’s Bible. It’s a work of philosophy – which is all jesus did – without the woo woo magic to impress the ignorant. My ancestors wrote quite a bit, were lawyers, preachers, craftsment, and legislators, and their use of god was in deist form.

@dglaffere @JohnMarkSays They left the church out of it entirely, because they were trying to escape the parasitism and corruption of the church and the nobility, to create a middle class empirical commercial majority society. The ‘faithful’ are simply good workers for the project.
