They left the church out of it entirely, because they were trying to escape the parasitism and corruption of the church and the nobility, to create a middle class empirical commercial majority society. The ‘faithful’ are simply good workers for the project.

They set up this country by the restatement of west-indo-european, germanic, anglo saxon, norman, english, british common law, and stated it in the empirical language of the enlightenment, with nothing more than a nod to deism, given founders were deists.
