Why do you think sheep are so underappreciated in the US? As far as productivity per acre, they blow cattle out of the water.

We started with just two ewes, three and a half years ago. We’re currently up to 27 females, and we get most of our protein and fat from this small herd. Best of all, we don’t have to buy any feed for them.

Sheep are the holy grail of self-sufficiency. No other animal will give you as much output for as little input. Period.
