People are adapted to partake in a group strategy (emphasis on group) and derive meaning from it. Individualism that tells them they all total control over their lives makes them suicidal.
And the enemy has benefit greatly from convincing our peasants they have valid political ideas and those ideas matter, driving us against each over ideology while our political situation only keeps getting worse.
