The USA is capable of full autarky. We don’t even require trade. That’s not true of India. (or anyone else other than to some degree, russia). With some effort, the west is autarkic from the rest of the world. If india an solve the ‘ lazy’ factor in the workforce it still has a reserve of population to build internal consumption from – and may have to – because the indian IQ average is only compensated for internationally by the vast population large enough to produce talent competitive on international markets even if the majority is only compeititive in domestic markets.
