If you follow that journey you will either get lost in falsehood or end up here where I”m standing. Why? Our brains just organize the nerves in the body to produce a predictable world model for our physical action. Everything evolves from that one place. The only biases we have are to motivate us to try to acquire calories and opportunities for them on increasing time lines. Everything evolved out of nothing more than wayfinding back to a nest and then out into territory to find food. We’re very trivially simple bots, with just large brain that can increasingly generalize over space time, and populations.
And that’s where everything ‘goes nuts’.
Because some of us can stand reality.
And some of us can’t.
It’s called neuroticism.
