Student quality craftsmanship bordering on ‘really bad’. However, that ‘primitivism’ in craftsmanship lends an archaic aesthetic to the primitivism of the instincts he seeks to inspire. So in some ways he’s managed by incompetence and inspiration to create an archaic iconography.
