They pronounce it Киев (KEEVE) – the ‘и’ sound is ‘yee’ like our ‘ee’ – you can’t really hear the ‘y’ sound as a foreigner because Ukrainian and Russian vowels are pronounced with the back rather than middle of the tongue.
They anglicize it as Kyiv (k’YEEVE),
We anglicize it as Kiev (key-YEV).
