Moreover, ‘collapse’ will look far more like the great depression on steroids. It’s not going to result in pre-92 nuclear wasteland fantasy. Just lots of very poor people, and a government out of the ability to inflate.

I view preppers and the Jesus-will-save-us group as cowards. Why? Conservative self-overconfidence, over-independence, and high disagreeableness that prevents organization necessary for victory without an authoritarian leader – that the enemy is extraordinarily successful in preventing from rising.

Hierarchies are harder to form than herds. Because the natural intuition of the hierarchical is an inability to compromise one’s overconfidence-despite-ignorance-and-powerlessness for the betterment of the group. And the factions provide competition for overconfidence-despite-failure that doesn’t even need the enemy to keep each other down.

The left doesn’t have that problem.
