Augustine’s work attempted to convert supernatural and authoritarian semitic theology into European natural law philosophy. THus attempting the unification of athens and Jerusalem. Without him its almost as likely that we would have seen the restoration of greco roman thought and education instead of the Christian destruction of the arts, letters, schools, history, and knowledge of the greco roman world.
