HOW AQUINAS CONVERTED SEMITIC LAW TO EUROPEAN LAW WITHOUT DISPOSING OF THE BIBLE

I’m making my way through Summa Theologica, just finished the Treatise on Law and I can see what Aquinas did there.

The Tanakh, the Bible (and the Quran for that matter) contain Semitic authoritarian law, clearly produced by feminine cognition. This is what you must do or else God, a jealous God, the highest status man around, will disapprove and punish you. Don’t you dare question his motives.

Aquinas turns this on its head and explains the purpose of each law, explaining its effects on the population, how it contributes to the preservation and improvement of the population, demonstrating masculine systematizing cognition.

Thus reframing it from authoritarian Semitic law to European natural law, or as close as was possible at the time without rejecting the Bible.
