1980 war, vietnam, usa defeated, economy in shambles, and USA in decline, where USSR in ascent. 2000 ussr gone. USA shaping the world. 2020 what we thought would happen didn’t. No economic peace and stability. China emerging power.

1900 europe ruled the world, was vastly creative and wealthy. 1920 europe tore itself apart, and the leading power (germany) had been crushed. 1940 germany occupied france and norway, and would win. 1960 germany was an occupied country, crushed in the war w/usa-ussr ~nuclear war.
