AFAIK the value of the EU was 1. Trade barriers and tariffs, 2. Access to Germanic law in that trade, 3. Access to German currency, banking, and finance. 4. Minor promise of American, British military defense.
BUT French rule, migrant labor, immigration and Islam? NOPE!!
