Cells generate demand that DNA fulfills. Complexity is emergent from the market interchange, both directly and indirectly. There are a surprisingly small number of proteins (mechanisms) and a lot of regulatory expression. It’s not like maufacturing metal parts.

@oswaldspangled @JFGariepy @WorMartiN We can’t do it yet. And computationally the idea is terrifyingly complex. DNA isn’t a proactive recipe it’s a reactive manufacturing agent. It’s not omnidirectional engineering but a MARKET producing externalities. That’s why we’re having so much difficulty with the complexity.
