A Jeffersonian (like myself) would say that the universe is just energy “matter in motion”, and the laws of the universe, an anthropomorphism created by man, and all phenomena in them from gods to prophets to ordinary men, is emergent (evolved deterministically) by those laws.

@campbel763 Claiming that a deity is separate from the universe is always going to fail the test of time because there is nowhere for the information we call the deity to exist and no means of its action. Claiming deities are emergent (evolve) and that’s why there are so many of them, works.
