The tendency of humans to imaging greater agency in the demonstration of preferences is counter to the evidence. As in all things we merely justify, just as we construct history (explanations).

@PotsPol Demonstrated preference vs stated preference.
Demonstrated preference refers to an organism’s bias to act to acquire or defend resources (incl investments and opportunities), in one, more, many, or all instances. Stated preferences are signals – nothing more(posturing).
