So it’s not so much as regarding yourself as something particularly wonderful, but regarding others as less able to insulate themselves from instinct, self-interest, norm, and opinion, and develop sufficiently empirical and aesthetic judgments.

@TruthQuest11 My experience with the captains of Tech isn’t that they’re narcissistic (which in itself is a Freudian Critique), but that it takes a great deal of effort to train yourself out of animal instincts and concern for other’s opinions, in order to make purely empirical judgements.
