HOWEVER, it is looking very, very, very, unlikely that any people can do so without some form of market (or non- market) eugenics. So the problem we ‘get wrong’ is race rather than class. AFAIK, the bottom is six times as costly as the productivity made possible by the top.

@razibkhan Hypothesis: Only “white” people could invent sovereignty, reciprocity, testimonial truth (regardless of cost), realism, naturalism, reason, science, jury, markets-in-everything, market eugenics, and our subsequent rate of development. BUT any group *MAY* copy them if they can.
