The greeks if not the romans were on the verge of the industrial revolution by the middle of the first century BC. Within two centuries they would have saved us the dark ages.

@roytapel @JohnMarkSays There is no comparison whatsoever to european civilization in the velocity of production, innovation, and condition, in the ancient and modern worlds. We dragged humanity out of ignorance, starvation, poverty, disease, superstition kicking and screaming.
