It’s a bad argument. Portland, seattle, vancouver all imitate san francisco politically, but they are liberal islands in an agrarian ocean.

@NateSilver538 What’s the argument for lumping the Pacific Northwest and California together? Treating the entire US West Coast as a mono-culture doesn’t make a lot of sense and seems like a very “East Coast” thing to do.
