I was there when we elected Carter and conservatives gave up: “bankrupt the state before it can bankrupt the people”. They would have won easily by waiting out the policy failures just like marxism, neoliberalism, postmodernism – but for immigration. Fate was made in ’65.

@karlbykarlsmith When the left obtained enough control of the democrats that the south ended the prohibition on the party of lincoln, the balance ended – it was deterministic. First past the post would have to end. Senate restored. No option except extremes: top and bottom against the middle.
