The reason is the west and far east were homogenous polities, and the middle east wasn’t. The west was good farmland but distributed. The center and far east were river civs that were easily controlled, and therefore taxes, and could support standing armies.

@Catholic76 @StefanMolyneux It’s not like this hasn’t been discussed for the past three centuries. It is very hard to study history and not see the post-ice-age pattern. the west ran with truth and tech, the middle east with supernaturalism and sophism, and the far east with ‘reasonableness’ and harmony.
