I knew who he was before the Cathy Newman interview, but that resonated with me since I have had pretty much that exact same conversation with countless feminists. He made some solid points in it.Feb 26, 2019, 8:10 AMVaughn RobertsHe serves as a hard barrier against meaningful right wing positions. He wants young men to be just right wing enough to clean their rooms. His brand of politics will ultimately result in the same landscape as what the left wants only it will be globohomo but with clean rooms.Feb 26, 2019, 8:19 AMBenjamin BakerVaughn Roberts and just how clean is your room, bucko?Feb 26, 2019, 8:25 AMVaughn RobertsBenjamin Baker Oh gawd better clean those baseboards!Feb 26, 2019, 8:30 AMThorvlad WotensonNoah J Revoythis is brilliant! I completely agree!Feb 26, 2019, 8:36 AMJB BurnsWow Peterson outright said that?Feb 26, 2019, 8:56 AMRichard HallYep.Feb 26, 2019, 9:02 AMAlaam SchlaamI think you guys are way, way too uncharitable with him. A lot what he talks about is why the West is great, a big part of which is that we are meritocracies with individual rights, not merely collective ones. You can’t listen to all that and then think a multiculti globalist replacement of whites is good or even acceptable.
Why does someone have to be crucified for not transmitting to their audience an entire belief system? There’s things I learn from Molly, Curt and Stef. None of them gets monopoly over my opinions. Indeed, JBP is only a problem if you’re some kind of cultist towards him and let him think for you, i.e. what he says not to do.Feb 26, 2019, 9:15 AMAlaam SchlaamOfc he didn’tFeb 26, 2019, 9:16 AMAlaam SchlaamI mean even if that was his aim he wouldn’t phrase it so negatively.Feb 26, 2019, 9:16 AMJohn MarkAlaam Schlaam the reason this “error” of JP’s is such a huge deal is that it’s the error that is destroying Western Civ. He’s like a neighbor that helps clean up the trash in your neghborhood…and rapes your daughter.Feb 26, 2019, 9:21 AMAaron Byrnes”The group does not suffer, only the individual.” WTF?! 🧐 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjaLsZzWhK4Feb 26, 2019, 9:22 AMAlaam SchlaamI think we had bigger fish to fry, such as absolute apathy and degeneration. JBP showing people what’s good about their culture is causing them to value it. Personal responsibility is essential for a high functioning collective, and he wants people to figure out what they can fix personally, rather than neglecting to go follow an ideology that “answers all the questions” without any real work needing to be done.Feb 26, 2019, 9:25 AMJB BurnsWell yea I was hoping for a link of soFeb 26, 2019, 9:40 AMSteven KolpekThere are life coaches on YouTube that do what Peterson does on that level, minus the politics. Should steer kids in that direction.Feb 26, 2019, 10:45 AMJared NeavesJay Dizzle we know some people that hero worship the old jpFeb 26, 2019, 11:01 AMColin HigginsIt is important to remember that both Peterson and Moly depend largely on Freudian / Jungian concepts and epistemology. They also lean on narrow, sometimes problematic theories of cognition and human potential.
Neither Peterson or Moly are saying anything particularly edgy or revolutionary. At best, Peterson is arguing for common-sense.
But for a much more comprehensive, expansive, and deep analysis into the issues these guys touch on, I would point the inquiring mind to writers like Richard M. Weaver (“Ideas Have Consequences”), or Richard McKeon –not so much for McKeon’s personal ideology, but for his exhaustive methodology and analysis, which is second to none.
take for instance, this page from his famous essay “Philosophic Semantics and Philosophic Inquiry”, an essay which describes “how” different thinkers and cultures approach and wrestle with fundamental problems of reality:Feb 26, 2019, 11:17 AMGreg Hamiltonno I doubt he’s ever said that or even anything close.Feb 26, 2019, 11:19 AMKevin SteenBe smarter. JBP never said this.Feb 26, 2019, 12:41 PMIgor WallaertHe hasn’t said it but it is definitely his main objective. You can derive that from the things he says pretty easily.Feb 26, 2019, 1:35 PMCurt Doolittlepls the latter link? Want to compare…Feb 26, 2019, 2:45 PMCurt Doolittlelove this slide. very useful.Feb 26, 2019, 2:45 PMPaul ListerRegardless he promotes this.Feb 26, 2019, 2:58 PMColin HigginsCurt Doolittle here is a link to the full article. It is wonderfully torturous and deep:14 pages that contain more content than entire volumes. http://www.richardmckeon.org/content/e-Publications/e-OnPhilosophy/McK-PhilosophicSemantics&Inquiry.pdfFeb 26, 2019, 3:00 PMColin Higginsgood article about McKeon here https://magazine.uchicago.edu/9412/Feat4.htmlFeb 26, 2019, 3:05 PMAubrey HarperEveryone has an agenda, and multiple ones
Molyneaux has never been a pure identitarian or race conscious person and never will be. He has gotten a lot wrong due to AnCap-poisoning (Rothbard, et al)
See, peaceful parenting, TrumpFeb 26, 2019, 5:16 PMAubrey HarperAs for JBP, he’s a Canadian academic and clinical head shrinker FFS
What part of his resume lead anyone to believe he would take up the mantle of Race Crusader?
Remember how he burst onto the scene…his objection to being forced to use pronouns for the myriad alleged gender identities
That was and remains his wheelhouseFeb 26, 2019, 5:23 PMBenny BeligeAlaam Schlaam how do you think it’s going to play out when in general it’s almost exclusively white men who embrace his message? How do you think it’s going to play out if only one group embraces individualism while other groups cling to tribal in-group preferences, while simultaneously collectively demonizing the group of individuals? I think it’s clear which of those groups will not prevail. The time for idealism is over.Feb 26, 2019, 6:22 PMBenny BeligeIt’s called analysis.Feb 26, 2019, 6:24 PMKieran SchrieverI think his aim is to make guys more thoughtful and less reactive. Slow them down to make better decisions now and enable them to think more long term. This opens them up to be more critical and explore more ideas and prevent indoctrination. Desensitising to animal reactivity and opening up to higher thought, while acknowledging our animal needs.Feb 26, 2019, 6:40 PM
