“Comedy is about an ordinary guy or gal struggling against insurmountable odds without many of the required skills and tools with which to win yet never giving up hope.”
The “ALL IS LOST” and “DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL” is always filled with the Character (& Audience) giving up HOPE. This downbeat happens before the “BREAK INTO THREE” where a new plan is conceived and the theme of the movie is answered and put into action.
HOPE is the switch that changes the tone of a film (and life) from dramatic to comedic.
I think many guys would agree that the efforts of Curt and Propertarians has really boosted our HOPE, which naturally increases our humor.
This explains why Curt laughs so much (especially when interviewed by friends.)
As for Tragedy, if I recall correctly, the defining element is that the main character has a tragic flaw, usually hubris which brings about his demise.
It’s not a tragedy if the main character doesn’t have a tragic flaw, it’s just a bad movie, or a sad ending.Feb 14, 2019, 8:46 PMMicah Pezdirtzcomedy for me, tragedy for my enemiesFeb 16, 2019, 5:17 PMBryan Nova Breyatta boy! 👊🏼Feb 16, 2019, 6:10 PMTyler DuskMy nibbaFeb 17, 2019, 3:54 PM
