Natural Law tells us that since people will, always and everywhere, retaliate in a manner exceeding the original harm against the imposition of costs upon that which they have borne costs to obtain an expected interest.
It tells us that all sorts of retaliation cycles start, and circulate endlessly from physical feuds to minor emotional conflicts.
It tells us that all conflicts are perfectly decidable – resolvable – by the test of reciprocity, and demand for restitution.
It tells us that by adjudication and restitution by reciprocity we prevent not only the original imposition of harm but the consequent retaliation cycles.
It tells that if we suppress innovations in the means of imposition of costs upon others fast enough, that people will increase trust, and therefore risk, and therefore increase economic complexity producing decreases in prices and increases in choice.
Natural law is DESCRIPTIVE. It says what does happen, and explains why it happens, so that we can evolve the law quickly everywhere and at all times, and eliminate as much as possible retaliation that destroys the norms, economies, and polities.
