For those of us with a little understanding of the pronunciation of both Gaelic and Anglo-Saxon, or even Elizabethan English, we can definitely hear the ancestry there. And even german has a bit of it.
Slavic languages went through an odd inversion in the last millennium so it’s harder for me to hear the similarities.
