Not sure if you’ve seen this, but thought I’d share just in case you haven’t. As with all such modern-day studies that seek to place genetic attribution to “squishy measurables”, it needs plenty of vetting. However, the idea that a plurality of intelligence genes reside on the X chromosome is extremely consistent with the principle of males having a shallower-but-wider IQ bell curve relative to females. (Basically, males roll once on a 3d6 for Intelligence, while females roll twice and average the two.)
From a breeding strategy POV, it suggests that a man’s best bet for selecting for intelligent offspring is to mate with a woman with an intelligent father and an intelligent maternal grandfather.
