You wouldn’t argue the by referring to any other bit of literature. you would try to learn from literature the way we learn from myths and parables. Just because you derive wisdom from something doesn’t mean it’s a test of truth or necessity.
WTF is wrong with these people. They’re freaking crazy. The fact that they’re spouting crazy literature as if it’s science conveys upon them some sort of protection? Why? I don’t listen to schizophrenics. I don’t listen to german rationalists for that matter.
I consider myself a religious and spiritual person, even if my concepts of these things are somewhat esoteric – scientific even – to the point where its arguable we are talking about the same things. I am skeptical of people who lack such things because there is too high an incidence of sociopathy among them.
But people who argue using religious literature are no different from people arguing by referring to Dr Seuss. It’s ridiculous.
Sigh.
