1) Email me asking for an interview. Suggest a time. Schedule a time. I am in eastern Europe at GMT +2: Reserve an hour.

2) Make a list of questions, or at least a subject, and email them to me. I will make a list of notes. This helps me position the conversation for you.

3) Buy Call Recorder for Skype or torrent it or use a trial copy.

4) Use Skype

5) Test it with three different friends before you call me, for at least ten minutes.

6) Ring me 30 minutes and 15 minutes ahead of time. It’s not like I am sitting around waiting for your call, with nothing else to do. I’m busy, and I get distracted easily. 🙂

7) start recording, introduce yourself. Introduce me. Let me say thank you, then ask your first question.

8) I’ll answer. Please let me finish my thoughts, so keep notes when you’re interviewing, and return to questions. Interrupting me is ok if you don’t understand, but don’t change the subject – the reason my interviews are hard on people is that interviewers dont let me finish a chain of reasoning, and most of my chains of reasoning are quite long.

9) At the end I will wrap up with a summary statement f what I tried to get across.
