My opinion at present is that we have passed ‘Peak Human’. But I mean that in genetic terms. Because it’s pretty obvious that aggression, lower intelligence, higher impulsivity, and higher rates of reproduction, when combined with modern food production defeat higher intelligence and higher trust and lower reproduction.

I think that over the past 200K years, we have been producing waves of increasingly aggressive humans and that our belief that we live in a more gentle world is an illusion created by a shift in the means fo competition from violence to immigration, overbreeding and conversion. It’s slower less visible conquest, but conquest none the less.

Time to build battlements and arm the walls.
