DEFINITION: SCIENCE:
“The elimination of imaginary information from our statements of observation.”
Science: via-negativa: the elimination of imagination, error, bias, wishful thinking, suggestion, obscurantism, pseudoscience, or deceit.
The rest is ample curiosity, patience, discipline, hard work, and tool-making – whether those tools are cognitive and logical, or physical and measurable.
As the scale of our inquiry decreases to the small, or increases to the large, or peers into the past, or into the future, or into the fast, or into the slow, we must reduce that which we cannot perceive and compare to that which we can perceive and compare.
That process is largely a constituted in the development of logical and physical instrumentation by which we can sense and perceive and compare that which we cannot without the assistance of logical or physical instrumentation.
In other words, Science consists in that discipline under which we struggle to distill the truth from the results of free association within our imaginations (and the imaginations of others).

Aristotle invented what we call science today:” the elimination of imaginary information from our statements of observation.”
It took through the Machiavelli to develop it in social science. It took until Bacon to develop it in general use. It took until darwin and maxwell to remove most of the remaining uses. I’m just removing it from psychology, sociology, group evolutionary strategy, and law. The problem for most thinkers in the past was the conflation of mathematics and platonism, and the conflation of reason and supernaturalism. Once deflated we are left with states, transformations, and the operations required to conduct those transformations: recipes. All else is some version of history, literature, and mythology. The reason we require myth, literature, and history, is because it takes very little cognitive power or knowledge to understand myth (cartoonish hyperbole for the purpose of reducing experience), literature (analogy to experience), and history (reduction of complexity beyond direct experience).
It doesn’t matter what similar errors they made – they were men of their time. it matters that between Augustine, Plato, and Aristotle, we obtained theological, platonic, and scientific traditions, which roughly match the cognitive abilities of our classes. We can easily categorize all thought as deflationary and true, conflationary and analogical, or conflationary and false (deceptive).
What matters is that one cannot argue truthfully only meaningfully across them, and decidability is ALWAYS provided by the scientific.
So, we have decidabile and true on one end, meainginful and allegorical in the middle, and deceitful and supernatural on the opposite end.
Decidable/True — Meaningful/Allegorical — Deceitful/False

THE PROPERTARIAN TAKE ON WESTERN HISTORY
(important concept)
Let’s note that in propertarianism we don’t have to resort to the terms ‘good’ or ‘bad’ just true (moral) and false (immoral). If you work from the via-positiva, you are stuck with the impossible presumption of knowing the ‘good’. If you work from via-negativa, we only need to know know the bad. If you work from sovereignty over property-in-toto we can empirically test the bad, leaving only the good to survive the ‘battle’. (The origins of trial by combat are rational in this context).
And if you grasp that the only method of cooperating under sovereignty over property-in-toto is productive, fully informed, warrantied, transfer limited to productive externalities, then no ‘commands’ in ‘legislation’ exist: only contracts for exchanges. In some exchanges we are seeking merely reciprocal burden of the costs of the production of commons. In others we are seeking behavior in exchange for financing. In others we are seeking behavior in exchange for subsidy.
What Roman empire and the church provided was an insurer that monarchies(rulers) adhered to natural law – at least in commerce. In a world where monarchs could be readily replaced by advantage-seeking-peers if they broke natural law, and were given license by the church – the militias (people) would not defend their kings. This limited monarchies to an incremental evolution of christian natural law monarchies, culminating in the late medieval period as enlightened monarchs.
We blew it. We took a very long time to develop government without a state (rule of law), in sufficient scale across our civilization, that sovereignty reserved for the aristocracy, was nearly achieved at scale. By ‘jumping the gun’ with the enlightenment, and seizing power from the aristocracy and church, the anglos and french let loose the undomesticated animal man in the lower classes to undo that sovereignty that the aristocracy had spent 3500 years developing through the incremental suppression of parasitism, producing the incremental domestication, and incremental rise of animal man through slave, serf, freeman, lesser nobility, nobility, and aristocracy. Because by achieving aristocracy one has transcended parasitic man to sovereign brotherhood of non-parasitic humans.

***Christianity can be taught as myth, while removing the falsehoods by stating that it is myth and parable not history and truth.***
—“All science relies on metaphor. The science of wisdom is no different. Metaphor and allegory contain truths in tangible terms that can be readily understood and applied. The problems are not so much with the group (church) but with the leaders (priests) who, given sufficient authority, seek greater means of control over the group. Lies are the means of control and control is necessary for ‘steering’ in a given direction. This is only necessary because the individuals of whom the group is comprised lack self-control…and, so, back to the message….a self-referencing feed-back loop.”— Lesley Keys

PHILOSOPHY IN THE SPECTRUM OF DECIDABILITY
(Notice the order) (Notice how producing an ordered series makes attacks by empty verbalisms almost impossible)
— Correspondence —
*Reason: comparisons of differences in order to produce decidability by preference or necessity.
*Logic: the use of reason to identify general rules of internal consistency, for use in testing the internal consistency of propositions.
*Law: the declaration of general rules of decidability in matters of conflict, in populations large enough for extra-familial commons to develop. Laws evolve internal consistency out of the necessity of decidability in matters with multiple causes.
*Philosophy: the use of reason and information to produce a set of internally consistent general rules of decidability within domains of varying scale – including ‘complete’ scale: science.
*History: a reduction of the complexity of past reality to an internally consistent narrative, as externally correspondent as feasible, for the purpose of providing information, for use in ideation or decidability.
*Literature: the use of narrative to produce an internally consistent, existentially possible, but not externally correspondent alternative to history. (conflation of mythology and history)
—- Limits of Correspondence—
( Invocation of dream states for the purpose of suggestion)
Mythology: the use of pseudo-historical, super-normal, or super-natural narrative used to produce a set of internally related if not internally consistent explanations in the absence of history. Note that super-normal, (impossible heroes), anthropomorphism( attributing human characteristics to non human objects), and supernatural (impossible non-human characters) and extra natural ( other-worlds) are demonstrated in various myths.
Theology: The conflation of Mythology and Law for the purpose of producing an internally consistent method of decidability and justification for the use of exclusion or the application of force in cross-tribal groups.
Occult/NewAge: the conflation of supernaturalism and dream state to produce a purely intutionistic, experiential, and pre-rational, not necessarily consistent but at least framed, method of decidability.
Dream State: free association driven by intuition, independent of reason, or by the intentional avoidance of reason.
Drug State: chemically induced dream state, disabling ability to reason while preserving free association.
