    RECIPROCITY
I see myself as trying to restore the pre-war particularist ethic from the postwar ‘globalist’ ethic. And since I started on this mission in 2014 I’ve been suprised and pleased to see its use work through the conservative spectrum. But with the current Ngram data, while five years old now, it doesn’t appear to move the needle yet. 😉

    Definition
    RECIPROCITY
    Reh-sih-prah’-sih-tee
(Synonym for “Morality” in general and “Ethics” in philosophy, and Non-Tortuous in Law)
The requirement that all human interaction be limited to.
    1 – Productive
    2 – Fully Informed
3 – Non Hazardous (baiting into hazard)
    4 – Voluntary Transfer
    5 – …. Of Demonstrated Interests
6 – And Warrantied and Warrantable
7- And Within the Limits of Restitutable Liability
8 – And Free of Imposition of Costs
    9 – …. By Externality
10 – …. On the Demonstrated Interests of Others.

This is the only criteria that satisfies the first principles of decidability:

(from our Constitutional Reforms, Article I.IV The Natural Law)
–“As conscious beings possessed of different degrees of agency, we consciously grasp, unconsciously presume, or biologically intuit, these choices upon which all others depend:

The first question is: “Why not commit suicide?” This question is that of Personal philosophy.

The second question is: “Why engage in cooperation rather than free-riding, parasitism, and predation?” This question is that of Ethics.

The third question – and one that a group must answer – is: “Why engage in cooperation with others, rather than free-riding, parasitism, and predation?” This question is that of Politics.

The Fourth Question a group must answer is: “How shall we organize our people with myths, arguments, and rules to survive and prosper in competition from nature and man?” That the question of Group Evolutionary Strategy,

The Fifth Question a group must answer is “What are the limits of tolerance for life, for ethics, for politics, and for group evolutionary strategy, before we resort to suicide, separation, free riding, parasitism, predation, and the condition of victimhood?” That is the Question of Limits.

The answer to all five questions is that persistence of the opportunities of existence, of the returns on cooperation, and of the returns on the production of commons, are preferable to suicide, separation, free-riding, parasitism, predation, and the condition of victimhood.

Conversely, resistance, violence, feud, insurrection, revolution, civil war, warfare, and genocide are preferable to submission to undermining of cooperation, hindering of cooperation, parasitism, and predation.”–

the catholic lens at least after aquinas is simply the restatedment of church dogma as natural law of cooperation. The natural law of coooperation turns out to be the science of cooperation. And chrsitinity turns out to be the optimum training for participation in a high trust society under the natural law. The only difference being that the catholic states were more corrupt (southern) because they were older institutions, where the norhtern states were both less corrupt and less tolerant of corruption because the state in the holy roman empire was more competent and pragmaticc and secular. So, the prostestant reformation was a rebellion against church lying and corruption just as the present rebellion against the marxist-to-woke academy-state-media complex is a rebellion against lying and corruption,

Technically, It’s the Formal Natural Law, Not Just Natural Law. 😉

Catching up on the last few decades of work on Natural Law and understanding that we must disambiguate my work from the historical trajectory.

    Why does it matter?:
Because natural law states that all just and legitimate law evolved from the laws of nature, and morality is among the laws of nature. The problem of the past is they lacked a formal basis for it – at least, untili the time of Blackstone. Further it seems that most authors of the past failed to grasp that the common law, and concurrent legislation limited by natural law are empirical methods of determining what is in fact both moral and legitimate behavior and law.

So natural law means the unification of the laws of the universe, the empirical method to discover them, and the discovery of and consistency of moral rules using them, and the constraint on both the people and the state by the use of them. In other words, natural law sought to unify the laws of the universe (physics), with the laws of human behavior (cognitive science, psychology, sociology) with the facilitation of human behavior (econcomics law and politics).

And by this unification we falsify the human tendency to make stuff up that assists them in preying upon others.

    Historical Sequence:
Pagan European Philosophy(Plato and Aristotle) -> Christianity (Aquinas) -> {Lock/ Smith/ Hume/ Blackstone/ Founders} -> to the revolt against natural law {Bentham, Austin, Rez, Kelsen, Hart, Dworkin} -> To the attempt to restore it and the founder’s transactionalism {Scalia, et al} -> to myself who has completed the formalilzation that scalia began.

    Formalization:
So, in this sense, I’ve been using the term Natural Law in this tradition of the unification of the sciences. Or what I call P-Law or the P-Method.

But the correct, technical description would be:
The Formal Operational Algorithmic Natural Law of Cooperation. Or Formal Natural Law for short. 😉

Because the technical name for the laws of logic are The Formal Laws.

You think that my opinion matters. They undersetand that I grant self determination by self determined means to anyone. As such you may have your religion and I will support you in it, because christian religion is not counter in practice to natural law – in fact, catholicism is extraordinarily consistent with natural law.

The difference is I would not tolerate theological incorporation into law. However, given that christianity is consistent with natural law at least in its ethics and morals (except in it’s supernatural expression), means that anything that christians seek to state that is expressible as natural law can be encoded in secular scientific terms. The only thing they can’t to is attempt to encode it in theological terms.

This is why many christians support me. At least, the thinking part of the spectrum that doesn’t demand other people think and feel as they do, only act accordingly.
