    WHY WE FAILED.

    All men are comprehensible.

    All men are rational within their limits.

    And as rational we choose what is in our interests whether moral or immoral.

    And we create institutions that increase the cost of the immoral.

    So that it is rational to choose the moral.

    The problem of the twentieth century is that we eliminated the normative prohibition on libel, slander, ridicule, shaming, rallying, lying, pseudoscience, and propaganda.

    And caused the industrialisation of profiting from error, bias, wishful thinking, suggestion, obscurantism, pseudoscience, propaganda, rallying, shaming, and deceit.

    The reason for our failure is visible in retrospect as an inability to switch from traditional and moral justification in societies with relationships at human scale, to warranty of due diligence by thorough criticism of statements pertaining to cause and consequence when relationships exceeded human scale under the industrial revolution.

Two things i don’t like in this trend. 1) Academia persuaded university authorities that to business PhD and MBA math-economics is indispensable. Applied programs people hate this “rigorous” nonsense 2) Too many graduates from mainstream go to teach in business schools.”— Arteom Korotchenya

    Procedural Application (private business and public govt) vs Application(repeatability) vs Basic Research(discovery).

    Three different things. Very few basic research papers of merit in any given year. Many, many applications tested each year, each expanding or reducing empirical content and thereby increasing or decreasing candidacy in law.

    All organizations, intellectual included, operate by class structures, roughly segmented by every ten points of IQ +/- 1/2 St.Dev. And it is the cooperation between these classes that produces the difference between imagination, hypothesis, theory, and law. Those at the bottom test theories tested by application to data and hypothesized by basic research.

    Together we take a restructuring of human understanding, through various tests, until habituated by use, and assumed metaphysically as a natural property of existence.

    So think of the hierarchy as a production cycle, and work within your class, and don’t worry about what other classes do. They CAN only work with the conceptual tools that we give them. And very few of us struggle amidst ridiculous odds to find some innovation that can work its way through that production cycle and end up in our unconscious assumptions about the nature of reality and how we can act to benefit from it.

    RESTORING THE CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS PRIOR TO THE ATTEMPT TO INDUSTRIALIZE A MONOPOLY OF THE NUCLEAR FAMILY.

    We need to force the creation of (a) monasteries (education and caretaking) in the ‘scientific’ sense, and (b) regiments (emergency and defense), and (c) civic dormitories (commons construction and maintenance). These places need to provide room and board to men of character in each class, in exchange for civic labor. Strict behavioral requirements, preserving the sacredness of the commons, (and suppressing impulse), Privately managed non-profits (leaving membership discretionary and without state interference). They will absorb the excess male population that will only serve to increase, increase the scarcity of marriageable males, reduce the size and cost of the state, reduce the cost of commons construction and maintenance, improve the general health and welfare, allow us to return to handcrafted hand-maintained commons.And restore civic ‘ownership’. If in addition, we eliminate child support and alimony, the family will be restored in one or two generations. And where it isn’t we don’t need it to be.

    I have learned a great deal living on this side of the pond.

    The old ways assisted families in classes in compatibility, they were not industrialized societies trying to mass produce middle class from variously incompatible raw materials.

    There is a reason why we want to restore BOTH truthfulness AND Poetry with Rhyme:

    Just as our ancient ancestors chose our intellectual (druidic / historian) leadership by their abilities to remember, our more recent intellectual leadership was sorted out by their use of poetry and meter.

    So if we speak testimonially, in rhyme and meter, we will ‘sort’ by speech as did our historical and prehistorical ancestors.

    And like our ancestors these words, in rhyme and verse, truth to to the core, will work their way into the commons vernacular as normative law.

    ( I will work more on this but I seem to have solved the problem of both truthful speech, and art, poetry, and literature that troubled me so seriously in the early days.)
